Ayurvedic Doctor • Educator • Healer • Lover of Truth & Life

I grew up in the high desert of northern New Mexico — wide skies, cold winds, unfinished homes, mountains all around, and a lot of space to wander. It was beautiful and hard. I spent countless hours alone in those hills learning how to listen: to the land, to silence, and most importantly, to myself. That early training in solitude and curiosity shaped who I became and how I practice life.

As a kid, volleyball grounded me. My parents built a sand court in our yard with lights and speakers so we could play into the night. It taught me discipline, joy, grit, and rhythm — lessons I still carry. That love of movement and wholeheartedness helped me earn a full athletic scholarship and a Bachelor’s degree in Biology, but office life never felt like home.

After college, I found myself in the tech and pharmaceutical world — skills learned, yes, but soul unstirred. I knew something deeper was calling me, and I followed it: I quit and founded Pure Habitat, one of New York City’s early eco‑conscious cleaning and consulting businesses. That work — building something rooted in values — opened my heart wider, led me deeper into yoga, and eventually into Ayurveda.

CONNECTING TO SOURCE

My Ayurvedic journey began at The Ayurvedic Institute in New Mexico, where I completed both Ayurvedic Health Counselor and Practitioner programs. Just as I was finishing, Dr. Vasant Lad invited me to join the faculty, trusting me to teach, supervise, and serve in Panchakarma and clinical education. I learned in classrooms and clinics, in lecture halls and in the quiet of deep practice, alongside brilliant colleagues and teachers.

I have led training programs in Pune, India, developed curriculums, supervised clinics, and nurtured the next generation of healers. I have shared my knowledge with communities in New York City and beyond, co-founding *Ayurveda for the People™*, offering free wellness education, Ayurvedic therapies, and yoga to underserved neighborhoods.

Every step of this journey has been an exercise in conscious creation—crafting environments, rituals, and relationships that support harmony for all beings.

Living the Philosophy

I stayed deeply connected to my yoga and spiritual communities in NYC, reuniting and partnering with Swami Ashokananda and my IYINYC yoga family in 2015 to co-create New Moon Ayurveda, a 600-hour Ayurvedic Health Counselor training program. Together, we brought Ayurvedic teachings into accessible, community-focused spaces, blending traditional wisdom with practical, modern application.

In the Bronx, through our outreach initiative, Ayurveda for the People, Danny and I were honored to receive an artist residency at the Andrew Freedman House in the Bronx, offering Ayurvedic consultations, classes, and ceremonies to the local community — a vibrant chapter of shared learning, healing, and connection.

India called next, and it became one of the most profound chapters of my Ayurvedic journey. I helped develop and lead an immersive Panchakarma Therapist Training near Pune, guiding students from around the world, overseeing client care, and ensuring continuity and integrity in every treatment. Each day was a masterclass in responsibility, presence, and precision — balancing the needs of students learning, clients receiving care, and the rhythms of a traditional Ayurvedic clinic.

The work was humbling, demanding, and infinitely rich. I witnessed transformation not only in the clients we served, but in the students who came eager to learn, and in myself, as I navigated the delicate interplay between teaching, practicing, and holding space. It was a living laboratory of Ayurveda — a place where theory, technique, intuition, and heart all had to meet.

Those months shaped my understanding of healing as both art and science, deepened my confidence as a practitioner and educator, and reminded me of the sacred responsibility inherent in caring for others. India taught me to listen more closely, move more mindfully, and approach every treatment — and every life — with reverence, patience, and love.

How Life Aligns

From there, Danny and I spent several years traveling, teaching in India, Mexico City, New York, and New Mexico, living lightly, carrying only what we needed, and following the work wherever it called us. Hawai‘i finally claimed us in 2020. What began as a teaching visit became home. Here, we surf, hike, garden, make medicine, and host individuals and couples for deeply personal Panchakarma experiences. Our dog Frankie keeps us grounded and laughing.

Along the way, I became a Licensed Massage Therapist  and earned NAMACB Ayurvedic Doctor–level certification, becoming one of the first in the U.S. to hold this credential.

I maintain a home-based practice rooted in tradition, personalization, and education, and I love crafting herbal formulations, medicated oils, ghees, and honeys.

Healing isn’t linear, wisdom isn’t static, and a meaningful life is built by listening—again and again—to what’s true.

That’s the path that brought me here, and it’s what I share with everyone who comes through our doors.
