As part of our Self-Care Sadhana course, we are excited to host this month's double date with self-care. It is a community-care-focused class, bringing awareness to the importance of taking care of those around us!

Together we thrive! Supporting your fellow community (friends, pets, environment) is part of being human. Taking care of each other – be it our families, friends, or communities – is an critical aspect of life and health.

So many people operate under the “every man for themselves” model. Ayurveda, and the art of holistic living, however, promotes a different kind of relationship where everyone has the opportunity to live abundantly, and the universe can support everyone’s dreams at no cost.

We all belong to many different relationships and communities where we can offer our support and knowledge. We don't even have to have a “specialty”... kindness and willingness are always enough.

Part of our duties as humans on this earth is to be stewards of space. That space begins with our own bodies and minds - but it also extends to our families, our homes, our relationships, our communities, and our environments. We are tasked with the job of maintaining a safe and clean space. If we follow the principles of Ahimsa and Saucha (harmlessness and cleanliness, respectively, in Sanskrit), then the intelligence of Source can flow freely, and the light of our own truths can activate harmony and balance everywhere.

Once we have developed a steady self-care routine, we should be strong enough to offer support to others.

Community care is how we support others, be it groups or individuals. Personally, I love to leave sticky notes all over my husband’s path, with loving and encouraging words. I also live in a community with lots of pregnant mommies, so I find that participating in meal support or tending to the pets is an easy and joyful way to offer my energy.

How we give back and offer our support will undoubtedly look different for each person or circumstance, and usually comes in the form of some inspirational thought to love another. In Ayurveda, we discuss community care as an extension of self-care. Our duties go beyond the self – it takes a village! The old should care for the young, and the young should care for the old.

Isolation can be a major factor in the disease process meaning it is so important that we don’t feel alone! Not that we don't need alone time, but to feel separated and un-heard is to be in a space of lower vibrations. Likewise, to be heard and supported is to be loved, and LOVE is the highest frequency of them all

So what will you get from this workshop?

  • Learn partner yoga and breathing exercises
  • Gain ideas and opportunities for community support (garden blitz, environmental cleanups, etc.)
  • Practice marma point therapy for their loved ones or clients.

Please join us on May 14th and 15th for this fun and interactive class. Bring a friend and you both get 50% off your tuition!
